Japan Ski Guide

Japan has some of the world’s best powder snow — cold Siberian air dropping 15+ meters per season on Hokkaido and Honshu mountains.

Top Resorts

Niseko (Hokkaido): Most internationally famous. Four interconnected resorts. World-class powder. English spoken widely. Season December–March.

Hakuba (Nagano): 1998 Olympics. 10 interconnected resorts. More variety than Niseko. Less crowded internationally.

Nozawa Onsen (Nagano): Traditional Japanese village plus good skiing. Free public baths throughout the village.

Gala Yuzawa (Niigata): 75 minutes from Tokyo by Shinkansen. Best for day trips from Tokyo.
