Floating Markets
The Delta’s most famous attraction. Boats loaded with produce gather before dawn and trade through the morning.
Cai Rang Floating Market (Can Tho): The Delta’s largest and most atmospheric. Best at 6–8am. Accessible by small boat from Can Tho (30 minutes).
Phong Dien Market: Smaller, less touristy than Cai Rang. More authentic feel. Also near Can Tho.
Cai Be Floating Market: Smaller, close to My Tho (2 hours from HCMC). Better for day trippers from Saigon.

Can Tho — The Delta Capital
The Delta’s largest city. Good infrastructure for exploring the broader region.
Bình Thủy Ancient House: French colonial villa. Well-preserved, often used as a film location.
Ninh Kieu Night Market: Riverside market with excellent local food.

Day Trip vs Overnight
Day trip from HCMC: Possible but rushed. Covers only the areas closest to Saigon. The floating markets require very early starts (5am departure from HCMC to arrive at 6–7am market).
1–2 nights in Can Tho: Much better. Allows proper exploration of Cai Rang market, countryside bicycle rides, and the broader Delta.

From HCMC:
- My Tho (closest Delta city): 1.5 hours by bus, ฿100,000 VND.
- Can Tho (best base): 3 hours by bus or minivan, ฿150,000–200,000 VND. Buses depart Mien Tay bus station.
