90-day visa-free: USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, most EU countries, Switzerland, Norway, Israel, Singapore, South Korea, and many others
30-day visa-free: Some countries receive a shorter initial period
Visa required: China, India, Russia, and many other countries require a visa application
Types of Visas Available
Tourist visa (Single entry): 15 or 30 days. For countries not on the visa-free list.
Tourist visa (Multiple entry): 3 or 5 years, up to 90 days per stay. Available to citizens of certain countries.
Working Holiday Visa: 1 year with work rights. For 18–30 year olds from 30+ eligible countries.
Student Visa: For enrolled students at recognized Japanese institutions.
Work Visa: Requires employer sponsorship from a Japanese company.
Digital Nomad Visa: 6 months for remote workers earning ¥10M+/year.
How to Apply for a Tourist Visa
