6-month visa for remote workers earning ¥10 million (~$67,000) annually. Must show income from a non-Japanese employer. Extendable for another 6 months. Japan’s first dedicated visa for location-independent workers.

Working Holiday Visa

Available to citizens of 30+ countries aged 18–30 (some up to 35). 1-year stay with ability to work. Countries include: Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK, Ireland, France, Germany, South Korea, Taiwan, and many others. Apply at the Japanese consulate in your home country before departure.

Student Visa

Enroll in a Japanese language school (minimum 3 months) to qualify. Part-time work permitted (28 hours/week). Many international visitors use this as a way to extend their Japan stay while improving their Japanese.
