Seminyak and Canggu are 30 minutes apart but completely different in character.

Seminyak: Upscale Beach Club Central

Designer boutiques, top restaurants, Bali’s most famous beach clubs (Potato Head, Ku De Ta, La Favela). Polished, sophisticated, compact and walkable. Best for couples and luxury travelers.

Cons: expensive, can feel sanitized, less authentic

Canggu: Surf, Nomads & Hipster Cafes

Bali’s digital nomad and surfer hub. Excellent cafes with fast wifi, good surf at Echo Beach, younger energy, more affordable. Rice paddies still visible between villas.

Best for: surfing, digital nomads, cafes, longer stays, younger travelers
Cons: spread out, bad traffic, losing local character

Choose Seminyak: couple’s holiday, beach clubs, special occasion, compact walkability.
Choose Canggu: you surf, you’re a nomad, you want cafes and affordable villas.
Best option: stay a few nights in each — they’re different enough to be worth both.
