Thailand eVisa: Tourist Visa (TR)

For travelers from countries that require a visa, the Thailand Tourist Visa (TR) allows a 60-day stay, extendable once for 30 days at a Thai immigration office.

How to Apply for Thailand eVisa

  1. Go to the official portal: thaievisa.go.th
  2. Create an account
  3. Select visa type: Tourist Visa (TR)
  4. Fill in personal information, travel dates, Thailand address (hotel booking)
  5. Upload required documents
  6. Pay visa fee (approximately $35 USD)
  7. Wait for approval (typically 3–5 business days)
  8. Download eVisa document
  9. Present at Thai immigration on arrival

Required Documents

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond entry date
  • Recent passport photo (JPEG, white background)
  • Confirmed return or onward flight ticket
  • Hotel booking confirmation
  • Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement showing at least 20,000 THB / ~$550 per person, 40,000 THB per family)

Thailand 60-Day Visa and Extension

The standard Tourist Visa grants 60 days. You can extend once at any Thai immigration office for an additional 30 days (cost: 1,900 THB / ~$55).

Total maximum stay on Tourist Visa: 90 days.
