China e-Visa: Online Application

China’s e-visa system (launched 2024) allows eligible nationalities to apply entirely online — no consulate visit. Receive your visa by email and print it at home.

How to Apply

  1. Go to evisa.mfa.gov.cn
  2. Select nationality and visa type (L = Tourist)
  3. Complete application form online
  4. Upload: passport bio page, photo, flight itinerary, hotel booking
  5. Pay fee (~$50–100 USD)
  6. Wait 4–7 business days (express: 1–2 days)
  7. Download and print your e-visa

Important Notes

  • Print your e-visa — digital copy may not be accepted at all ports
  • e-Visa is tied to specific entry ports — check yours is covered
  • Apply at least 2 weeks before travel
  • If denied, you can apply through traditional consulate route
