Staying in Bali for 60 Days: Your Visa Options

Two months in Bali is very doable

Sixty days is enough to really settle into Bali — find your neighborhood, develop routines, get beyond the tourist surface. The visa situation for 60 days is manageable, just requires a bit more planning than the standard 30-day visit.

The Social Budaya (Tourist) Visa

Indonesia’s B211 Social/Cultural Visit Visa allows stays of up to 60 days, extendable for up to four 30-day periods (maximum 6 months total) at an immigration office. This is the standard option for longer stays. Apply through an Indonesian embassy or consulate in your home country, or through an authorized Bali visa agent once you’re there. Cost: approximately $50–80 for the initial visa, IDR 350,000 (~$22) per monthly extension at the Bali Immigration Office.

Visa on Arrival + Extension

Nationals of some countries can purchase a Visa on Arrival at Bali’s airport for $35 — valid 30 days and extendable once for another 30 days (total 60 days) at an immigration office. The extension costs IDR 350,000 and takes half a day at the immigration office in Renon (Denpasar). Bring your passport, a copy of your passport bio page, your return ticket, and the fee. The queue can be long — arrive early.

Visa agents

Bali has dozens of visa agents in tourist areas who handle the paperwork for a fee (typically IDR 300,000–500,000 on top of official costs). Worth using if you find the process confusing or don’t want to spend a morning at the immigration office. Your guesthouse or villa can usually recommend a reliable one.
