Bangkok Nightlife
Bangkok has one of Asia’s most diverse nightlife scenes — rooftop bars, jazz clubs, EDM venues, night markets, and everything in between.
Rooftop Bars
Sky Bar (Lebua): The most famous. 63rd floor. Spectacular. ฿700+ cocktails. Book a table.
Vertigo (Banyan Tree): 61st floor. Less crowded than Sky Bar. Equally impressive views.
Octave (Marriott Sukhumvit): Three-level rooftop. More accessible, 360° views.
Cloud 47 (United Center): Great views, reasonable prices. Hidden gem.
Entertainment Districts
RCA (Royal City Avenue): Bangkok’s main club district. Large clubs, international DJs, mixed crowd. Late nights.
Silom/Patpong: Older entertainment district. More adult entertainment. Patpong Night Market runs down the middle.
Ekkamai: Hipster bars and live music. Local crowd. More alternative.
Night Markets for Atmosphere (Not Clubs)
Asiatique, Jodd Fairs, Rod Fai Market — excellent evening food and people-watching without the nightclub scene.
—
Chiang Mai Nightlife
More relaxed than Bangkok. The scene centers on:
Nimman Road: Trendy bars and restaurants. Young local and expat crowd.
Riverside (Ping River): Live music bars and restaurants along the river. Good atmosphere.
Zoe in Yellow: Backpacker bar area. Multiple venues, cheap buckets, lively.
—
Koh Phangan — Full Moon Party
The most famous beach party in the world. Monthly at Haad Rin Beach on the full moon. 20,000–30,000 people, multiple beach bars and stages, runs from 9pm until dawn.
Practical tips: Book accommodation months ahead. Store valuables. Wear waterproof sandals. Keep drinks covered.
Other parties: Half Moon Festival (twice monthly), Black Moon Culture Festival.
—
Koh Tao Nightlife
Small-scale but lively. Sairee Beach strip has bars and clubs. AC Bar and Maya Bar are popular. Nothing compared to Koh Phangan but good for an island vibe.
—
Phuket Nightlife
Bangla Road (Patong): The most famous nightlife strip in Thailand. Very touristy, very lively. Not for everyone.
Kata/Karon area: Quieter bars, better for couples or those who want a drink without the Bangla chaos.
